Peter Sheville, Partner

Peter’s journey in the profession started in 1983 and has encompassed experience in Australia, the UK, and Thailand. He has worked at the Partner level since 1995.  In recent years he has been leading business services and outsourcing in Thailand, and has a strong background in audit, assurance, business process improvement and accounting skills, as well as risk advisory and forensic expertise.

Peter moved to Thailand in 2018, together with his wife (who is Thai).  Their son was born in Nong Khai late that year. Together they have desire to have a positive impact in the local community, while raising their son with the benefit of immersion in Thai language and culture.

The opportunity to create a new professional services firm in Thailand arose.  “I became connected with a group of people with the same passion and drive to create something new and unique in Thailand which further cemented our decision to stay in Thailand for the long term. I saw this as a brilliant opportunity to work with people who are bonded through our mutual care for clients and our people. When combined with our talent and experience we are bringing a truly exceptional standard in excellence.”

Peter’s passion for learning, cultural connections, and personal improvement carry over into his work with BDO in Thailand. For Peter, this effort begins with listening: “We’re in the business of helping people, which means that everything starts with understanding,” he says. “By establishing relationships of trust, you can provide real leadership to help them move forward.”

Peter is grateful with the opportunity to lead the firm’s CSR program. “We each have a responsibility to work with our communities,” he says. “Even in a community environment, the fundamentals are the same: Listen, learn, build relationships, and do everything you can to help people grow themselves.”
